SPEAKER SYSTEMS

J-Series Line Array

The high output J-Series reaches into large-scale sound reinforcement situations, extending
further the spectrum of applications d&b systems embrace. The transparent and detailed audio
performance with extraordinarily smooth and even frequency response, dynamic bandwidth, extreme
high power and headroom capabilities, makes the J-Series the ultimate choice for the far-reaching
reinforcement of any sound genre. The J-Series consists of the J8 and J12 loadspeakers and the
J-SUB cardioid subwoofer that are acoustically matched and constructed to be mechanically
compatible both in flown or ground-stacked arrays. The high fidelity J-Series, pushing all the
boundaries, but yet stays true to the maxims of the
d&b System reality.
Q-Series Line Array

The Q-Series combines a variety of technologies with remarkable results as well as maintaining
the maxims of the
d&b System reality. The loudspeakers have conventional rotatable CD horns,
dipolar driver arrangements and toroidal wave shaping devices integrated using line array
principles. The exceptional Q factor symbolizes the precise dispersion control to very low
frequencies and for the size and weight, the Q-Series produces surprisingly high sound pressure
levels. These flexible loudspeakers can be effortlessly and scalably combined for a multitude of
small to large coherent arrays. They are ideal for situations using numerous open microphones
and where considerable gain before feedback is required for speech and music; in theatre,
presentations, broadcast productions and orchestral events.
J Subwoofer

The J-SUB is an actively driven 2-way bass-reflex design housing three long excursion neodymium 18" drivers, two drivers face to the front and one driver to the rear. The cardioid dispersion pattern resulting from this approach avoids unwanted energy behind the system that greatly reduces the reverberant field at low frequencies and provides the greatest accuracy of low frequency reproduction. J-SUB cabinets can be used to supplement J8 and J12 loudspeakers in various combinations, ground stacked or flown, either integrated on top of a J8 / J12 array or as a separate column. The J-SUB cabinet is constructed from marine plywood and has an impact and weather protected PCP (Polyurea Cabinet Protection) finish. The front and rear of the loudspeaker cabinet are protected by a rigid metal grill and the side panels incorporate eight handles. Four
100 mm wheels and one EP5 or NL8 connector are mounted at the rear.
B2 Subwoofer

The B2 subwoofer with its high output bandpass horn design and extremely high SPL is ideal for extended bass requirements. It is configurable to be either an infrabass for the C4 system or a high output, alternative subwoofer for the F1222 or C7 systems. When used with a C4 system, d&b recommend a ratio of four C4-SUBs to one B2. The B2 cabinet is constructed from marine plywood, has an impact resistant paint finish and eight integral steel handles. The front of the subwoofer cabinet is fitted with catches at the sides for securing an optional transport lid, and mounted on the rear are four heavy duty wheels.
Q subwoofer

The Q-SUB is an actively driven low compression bass-reflex loudspeaker fitted with a high excursion 18" driver. d&b SenseDrive technology is available when powered by the D12 amplifier. The Q-SUB is mechanically compatible with the Q1 and Q7; ten sockets in the front grill and side panels for Q-Series rigging components permit use in various combinations, either flown or ground stacked. The Q-SUB cabinet is constructed from marine plywood with an impact resistant paint finish, a pair of handles, four heavy duty wheels and an M20 threaded flange in the top panel to accept a loudspeaker stand. The front of the loudspeaker cabinet is protected by a rigid metal grill covered with replaceable acoustically transparent foam, and two EP5 or NL4 connectors wired in parallel are mounted on the rear panel. Two runners protect the bottom of the cabinet from scratching, these locate in correspondingly shaped recesses in the top panel to prevent movement when stacked. Fittings for securing an optional transport lid are also provided.
Q7 loudspeaker

The Q7 is a 75° x 40° passive two-way loudspeaker housing two 10" LF drivers and a 1.3" HF compression driver with a rotatable constant directivity horn and a passive crossover network. The two 10" neodymium LF drivers are positioned in a dipolar arrangement providing exceptional vertical dispersion control with the nominal angle being maintained down to 400 Hz. The Q7 with the horn rotated is used to mount the loudspeaker horizontally where space is limited, or the maximum horizontal pattern control is needed and when added to the bottom of Q1 arrays. The Q7 can be used as a stand-alone full range system, in combinations with other Q-Series cabinets ground stacked, or mounted on a high stand with a swivel bracket. They can also be combined in flown array systems. The Q7 cabinet is constructed from marine plywood and has an impact resistant paint finish. The front of the loudspeaker cabinet is protected by a rigid metal grill, covered with a replaceable acoustically transparent foam. The cabinet incorporates a pair of handles and mounted on the rear panel are two EP5 or NL4 connectors wired in parallel.
Q10 loudspeaker

The Q10 is a 110° x 40° passive two-way loudspeaker housing two 10" LF drivers and a 1.3" HF compression driver with a rotatable constant directivity horn and a passive crossover network. The two 10" neodymium LF drivers are positioned in a dipolar arrangement providing exceptional vertical dispersion control with the nominal angle being maintained down to 400 Hz. The Q10 can be used as a stand-alone full range system or in combinations with other Q-Series cabinets ground stacked, or mounted on a high stand with the Q Flying bracket. When used in the upright configuration it has a very accurate 110° horizontal constant directivity behaviour that is maintained down to approximately 800 Hz. Its wide constant directivity performance provides remarkable transparency when used in close proximity to listeners. It is also ideally suited to ambient and /or distributed sound reinforcement tasks where orientation within the sound field is critical. The Q10 cabinet is constructed from marine plywood and has an impact resistant paint finish. The front of the loudspeaker cabinet is protected by a rigid metal grill, covered with a replaceable acoustically transparent foam. The cabinet incorporates a pair of handles and mounted on the rear panel are two EP5 or NL4 connectors wired in parallel.

The M4 is a 2-way high performance stage monitor that produces 134 / 138 dB SPL when driven passively with the D6 / D12 respectivly or 140 dB SPL when driven actively with the D12. The constant directivity dispersion of 50° x 70° (h x v) delivers an accurately defined coverage area on stage and when used upright it is transformed into a powerful PA system with a dispersion suitable for a variety of applications. The M4 cabinet is constructed from marine plywood, which incorporates the handles, and has an impact resistant paint finish. It has two M10 threaded inserts on each side panel to enable quick and flexible rigging and a socket to accept loudspeaker stands. Two runners recessed in the bottom panel protect the cabinet from scratching and prevent movement.
